Eww! When Bad Breath Attacks
Written by Carly Greene
We all have had our experiences. We all have our horror stories. It could have been that nice old lady down the street. It could be the guy from Accounting that tells endless jokes or stories. That's right bad breath. But there is more than meets the eye. It does not necessarily mean that they do not use proper dental hygiene. It could be suffering from poor health or poor health choices.
What are some of the common sources of bad breath?
Tobacco: Whether in chaw form or cigarettes, we feel like we are talking to an ashtray.
Alcohol: No need in trying to hide it under mints we can smell the weekend bender on you.
Stomach issues: People can suffer from constipation, dehydration, and diarrhea which can show up on their breath.
Gum disease: When there are problems with gums this could lead to problems with the heart. So be careful.
What can be done?
Tea off: Drink green tea or peppermint tea. Green tea will kill bacteria found on the surface of the tongue. Peppermint will ease stomach problems.
H2O anyone: Dehydration could be part of the problem when the mouth is dry. So drink up. Body is made up of millions and millions of cells. They require water to live, which means you require water to live.
It fizzes: Yes when mixed with vinegar, baking soda does fizz. It is also an excellent way to keep things fresh including breath. So when in need of fresh breath use a little on your toothbrush. Also add hydrogen peroxide to your daily dental routine.
Fiber: Eat foods rich in fiber to get things running smoothly through your digestive system. Constipation is also a reason for bad breath. When things get backed up, fiber is the lubrication.
Alcohol was mentioned above, in some cases avoid eating lots of sugar. Sugar can ferment in your system. Fermentation = alcohol.
