Power Food: B is for Banana

Bananas are the super fruit. They are a food rich in potassium. What do we know about bananas.
Go back, (no farther than that) before 600 B.C. in Malaysia where this plant was discovered. They were used in trade in Asia and only reached mass produce markets in the early 20th century.
If you happen to get a green banana, just pop it in the fridge to ripen.
Benefits of the Banana : Simple sugars such as glucose = ENERGY(immediate)
Bananas contain Vitamins A, B, C
Potassium, Pectin, Tryptophan, and Magnesium
The benefits are decreased risk of stroke and high blood pressure, increase in immunity and brain function. It also helps in absorbing iron in the body to promote red blood cell growth.
Bananas are used to treat mood swings, morning sickness, and heartburn.
In some regions of the world banana peels are used to treat psoriasis (skin condition).
So take a banana with you wherever you go. Think of it as one of the first fast foods. Peel and eat. And if you are a gardener this fruit is perfect as compose since it is rich in minerals and vitamins.
