Power Food: C is for Cranberry
Written by Carly Greene
A Thanksgiving holiday traditional food in America is also one potent superfood. Cranberries are a result of vines that grow with this power packed food. Cranberries are tart to taste and it is after other juices and sugars are added that it becomes a sweet tangy treat or cocktail juice. Cranberries are rich in Vitamin C, Potassium, Phosphorous, Fiber, and Calcium.
Cranberries have long been known for curing Urinary Tract Infection or UTIs. They are also instrumental in the preventing cancer, promoting immunity, and preventing tooth disease.
In the past, patients taking blood thinning medication were told to monitor their daily intake of cranberries and cranberry juices.
So now you can drink all the cranberry juice you want and it is now available with no sugar added, but with a sugar substitute like Splenda.
