Richest Man in the World Revealed

Forbes magazine has released it's Richest people of the world list and topping the list this year is Carlos Slim.  His wealth is from his telecommunications business and investing in stock from Mexico and in Coca Cola products in Mexico. 

He is also has investments in real estate and mining.  Slim is recorded as having a net worth on $74 billion.

Carlos Slim Helu was born the fifth child of six children.  His father was a businessman who instill work ethic and knowledge of finances in his children.  His mother was from Lebanon. 

Slim has acquired his fortune by investing during times other investor would bolt.  For example during the early 1980's when Mexico went through an economic crisis, Slim scooped up the companies that were in financial trouble and did major overhaul of their management. 

When the new cell phone craze started in the 1990's it was Telmex that introduced prepaid cell phones and gained favor in the telecommunications market.  So his foreign competition was bought out. 

But most of all I believe that his success is due with what he invests in most his community.  Telmex is one of the biggest contributors to urban revitalization programs, museum preservations, and environmental conservation programs as well.

Bill Gates and Warren Buffett who were list as number one previously are number 2 and 3 respectively.
